What is the Trade Ready Program?

The CSQ funded Trade Ready program provides industry-based training for career seekers in the South East Queensland region. Students have exposure to a variety of building and construction trades and professions. It provides a great foundation to progress in a building and construction career. Working on real work sites, students have direct exposure to a variety of construction trades and professions and will learn from some of the most experienced construction professionals in their chosen industry.

The Aussie Painters Network CSQ funded Trade Ready Program provides additional skills and experiences to individuals who have some entry level experience working in the building and construction industry, to build their job readiness and prepare them to transition into a career in building and construction.

This program is a fantastic way to get your foot in the door for an apprenticeship.  There is a 3-week work placement component, and participants are placed with employers looking for an apprentice.

Previous APN participants in this program have started their Apprenticeship the day after their work placement finished!

Applicants will need to acknowledge that they have read the Application Terms and Conditions for their application to be approved. Click here for Application Terms and Conditions.

What is a Structured Workplace Learning Placement (Placements)?

Placements provide real world experience to increase a Participant’s work-readiness through the development of employability skills.

It provides employers with the opportunity to assess a Participant’s suitability for any current or future vacancies they may have, therefore providing a potential direct recruitment opportunity.

The experience in a construction vocation will improve a Participant’s capacity to make an informed decision about signing up for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship or taking up an employment opportunity in the building and construction industry.

Am I guaranteed a job or apprenticeship?

You are not guaranteed a job or apprenticeship.  However, you are trained in resume writing, job applications and interview techniques that may assist you in a career path in construction.
